Applied! (and tested quite a bit, with "long" and "short"
traceroutes).
By the way, it occurred to me that supporting ICMP probes (try with
'traceroute -I') might also make sense, eventually, if it's simple
enough (I *think* it is, we could probably set the TTL on the socket
regardless of the transport protocol).
